Take Me Up On The Wheel.

Crowds are increasingly difficult to manage. What suggestions have you for controlling the behavior of a large group of people?

In our globalizing society, there would always be more shops and companies being set up worldwide. Therefore, there would often be crowds and the need for crowd control. Riots and food donations to beggars are often held in large groups, and sometimes violence and force would prevail, either of conflict of ideas or impatience, respectively, therefore increasing the need of crowd control.

Large events like fairs, conventions and show rooms would require large and secure crowd control. In Singapore’s Expo, a convention centre, different types of conventions and fairs are being held, at the same time. Many of the fairs at Expo, have a certain layout, starting from the entrance, which branches out to either straight or left or right directions. The booths are set up for different companies to promote their product. Usually, these booths would be accompanied by a sales representative of the different companies. Using a maze layout, it would help to manage crowd without needing much security. Products can also be efficiently promoted, due to the layout. People would not get lost easily due to confine space. After walking for a long distance, people would be tired out and refreshments would help to stabilize people’s moods. Organizers of such fair could also restrict the number of people attending the fairs or conventions by limiting the sales of ticket or making it private, not opened to the public.

In densely populated areas like airports, which have relatively large areas compared to Expo, another way is to use heavy security and information booths. Heavy security in a certain area would be a signal to people that it is restricted. Shops and restaurants would also help meet the needs and wants of people, and quality services would further ensure that people would not be easily agitated.

In schools, without controlling and organizing large number of students, it would be chaos. Some ways to control the student crowd would be to have good teachers and probably a psychologist if the teachers cannot calm the students down.

In conclusion, efficient ways to manage crowds would be to provide quality services, change the layout of the place and have efficient courteous security stuff. In this way, it would lessen the chance of having an emotionally unstable crowd, wrecking havoc.

My favorite food
Food, one of Life’s greatest delights. Living in Singapore, the variety and cuisines of food is not restricted to only the local favourites. Foreign cuisine are also in abundance and there are also fusions of cuisine like the Malay-Chinese dish, Satay beehoon (thin rice vermicelli with spicy satay sauce).

I have tasted a great variety of different cuisine of food, ranging from the mouth-watering local favorites like Satay (chicken on a stick) and Laksa (noodles in a coconut-based gravy) to foreign cuisine like Thai, Indian and Japanese. The great variety of different cuisine
available always leaves me wanting to try more.

Honestly speaking, figuring out my favorite food is quite difficult for me. From a young age, I have had a sweet tooth, and always enjoyed eating dishes that are sweeter than usual. Teriyaki chicken, a Japanese dish is one of the sweetest dishes that I ever had, and liked it ever since. Teriyaki chicken is a common dish in most Japanese restaurants, often served with rice (Teriyaki Chicken Don). The sauce compliments perfectly with the tender, juicy large pieces of chicken every time I try it. The rich flavor of the dish never fades till it is swallowed. I knew that the essence of the dish was not the chicken but the sweet Teriyaki sauce. I wanted to know how the mouth-watering delectable brown sauce was made.

Curiosity leads me to search for the ingredients needed to make the brown sauce. Soon, I found out that teriyaki chicken requires ingredients ranging from the common Asian seasonings like sugar and soy sauce to the authentic seasonings from Japan, sweet rice wine (Mirin) and rice wine (Sake). Grated ginger would also be used to enhance the taste. No wonder it tasted so sweet!

Even though it is one of my favourite foods, all food must be consumed in moderation and never excessive. Considering my sweet tooth, I might easily become diabetic if I eat too much of this dish and probably so would you!
